St.Patrick's day

I'm not sure if this is true but I learned that the snakes that were driven out of Ireland weren't really snakes but were the Celtics and the druids that lived there.and being that st.Patrick was Christian, he drove out the pagans from Ireland. So I see today as a day of mourning rather than a day of celebrating.
I'm not going to point fingers at the Christians but their actions will be justified someday.what you send out will come back to you.
Do you celebrate or mourn this day?

Bein an American witch...

Being an American witch is tough.between voting rights, and who to vote for, and if your like me and you live in the bible belt. The majority of Americans are Christian,Catholic or atheist.if you were to tell others that you were s witch or even saying that your pagan will make people act strange towards you.it leaves many of us to be solitary in practice.
What I mean by bible belt is that in a stretch of states there are predominantly Christians and in this area there are a church on practically every street corner.(just from my home to Wal-Mart there are at least five churches and only one of them is Catholic)  its really hard to practice witchcraft for those that live in this area because there are so few supplies especially if your trying to from being open about it.
Also in America, we have issues like elections be it state or the big presidential elections and then there's the issue of guns. And yes I support having guns but I use guns in the name of protection only. Another issue here is gay marriage. I personally think that if you are happy with the person you claim to love and that they love you back,regardless of gender,then I am happy for you. I have nothing against you.I look at many issues like this:  unless it involves me or my immediate family then I don't mind it. If you are in love with someone of the same sex then I congratulate you on your happiness.if you own guns,want to own a lot of them or if you despise them then more power to you. I just have an issue with those that want to take away a person's right to own guns.I've been in several situations where I was happy to have a gun near enough to use if needed.

American pagans also have a problem with wearing a pentagram.  Its common here to automatically assume a pentagram is used in devil worship because if the abundance of Christians drilling that into our heads. I admit that I was afraid to have a pentagram around for that reason. I was also baptized and brought up as Christian but after going through personal things I have discovered that solitary eclectic Wicca is my spirituality.

Honor the triple goddess

I saw a blog post by one of my favorite bloggers, Jasmeine Moonsong,and she talks about honoring each aspect of the goddess and what each aspect means. In my life,I'm in the mother aspect because not only do I have a little one to look after and another one due in September.  My life is full of nurturing and selfless love and I could not be happier. Everyday is a challenge and an adventure and even a lesson.I'm still learning but then again, we never really stop learning new things no matter how old we are.

Pregnancy meditation

It's amazing to meditate to connect to the unborn baby. I noticed that since I've been doing this,I can actually feel the baby start moving. I'm only in my first trimester right now so it's roo early to actually feel the baby move.
Its so amazing to be able to connect to the baby this way. Even my son is curious about the baby ☺ if any of you reading this,you should totally try it. Comment results if you do.

Guess what? ??

I haven't been posting on this blog for awhile. I do apologize for that. I do have a good reason though. I found out in February that I am pregnant again.this will be my second child.I already have a boy who's four,turning five in April. My feelings for this pregnancy is kind of mixed.
I am happy,excited,worried all at once. I don't know if I've told you this but I developed epilepsy at the age of twenty one.I take medicine for it daily,the dosage worries me because of how high it is,(its five hundred mg twice a day! ) I don't know if this medicine will affect the baby and I cannot afford to have a seizure while pregnant,that would endanger the baby for sure!  And I'm worried of the baby having any other defects of any kind. My son had cataract surgery at six months old and had glaucoma shunt surgery almost right after he turned four. He has to wear thick glasses and still have to have eye pressure drops twice a day.(which he hates but willingly takes anyway.makes me proud at how he cooperates with me on it)  my husband has glaucoma as well.

I'm worried that the baby might have that or might have epilepsy like me. Those that have epilepsy know that extreme stress can cause a seizure to trigger and I would definitely say that giving birth falls under the extreme stress category.  My biggest worries other then mentioned above is that I might have a seizure during delivery or have one during recovery.  Having seizures scare me because you are so unaware of your surroundings and you forget things.having a seizure can be described as your brain being a computer that gets so overloaded that it just shortages out and once recovered,everything you currently had on it is now lost. Epilepsy is an invisible disease. If I were to meet you out somewhere,you would have no idea that I have it just by looking at me. Its terrifying to have this. ..

Runes

Do any of you use runes? Or have difficulty trying to learn them? For me they were a little overwhelming to study at first because there are so many and so many different meanings to interpret. But one of the easiest ways I have found to use as a study method is to keep a journal and use it every day. Draw one rune each day and write down three things: 1. Draw a picture of the rune somewhere on the page. 2. Write down the meaning of the runes. 3. Write down what your interpretations are, no matter what don't try to edit yourself. The easiest way to have the traditional meaning of the runes is to buy them with a book about them. I bought an anniversary set that has the complete set of viking runes and a bag to put them in and a book that explains all about them. I bought mine at books-a-million.

I know I haven't posted in awhile but I've been in sort of a spiritual freeze right now. It happens though. It's your subconscious telling you to slow down. Everybody goes through it but nobody ever talks about it. But we do need to get things like that out in the open so that we can get it out of our system but at the same it helps other people out. Its better to help others than to hender their progress.
